The industrial designer Juan Sebastián Gómez put colored pencil to paper this year for FABRICA. – and the result was seen in tripod penholders conjured up by the 3D printer.
As miniature prototypes they manifested how digital production can be fused with traditional handicraft and meanwhile integrate users at the same time. The standard lamp shown here also works on the same principle: It combines steel elements made in 3D printing with hand-made walnut parts.
Re-animating archaic elements anew and appealing to emotions – this is the very objective of the configurable lamp design made of steel, ceramic, plastic, wood, aluminum, or brass. Mission accomplished!
