COCKTAIL IN THE FESTIVAL HEADQUARTERS

This year, by choosing the former Bothe & Ehrmann Exhibition Halls, the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK is moving into probably the most nuanced festival living room in its ten years of history. The neoclassical building style and the accentuated architectural division between business and living zones are prototypical of a pre-First World War, medium-sized operation. What was originally a shop for a cabinet-making workshop producing reproduction furniture for the whole of the monarchy, now houses the business activities of the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK. With a whole array of talks, workshops, and exhibitions, the facilities in the listed building on Schloßgasse 14 will for ten whole days be the pivot and hub of Austria’s biggest design festival.
