Inspired by the rugged and sublime forms of glaciers and mountains, the French designer Alexandre Echasseriau designed an exquisitely gleaming champagne bucket during last year’s Passionswege, which Antonio Umani, the Master at the Silber Manufactur, enthusiastically promoted. Prior to use, the entire cooler is frozen in the freezer. Then, in the course of an effervescent evening, the glacier slowly melts and exposes the perfectly polished silver surface under the thin frozen layer. What appears is pure handicraft. À votre santé!
