Guest Country

Through its changing focus the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK each year opens up an in-depth and detailed view of the creative design scene of a European country. This year, the festival presented design from France, the guest country of 2015. Especially evident was the acute awareness for materials and production methods that was reflected not only in the two guest country exhibitions of the Institut Français d’Autriche, but also in the program items pervading all the festival formats. The formidable guest country program was rounded off with the participation of French designers in the Laboratory, three fascinating Passionswege projects, and exceptional talks, such as the one given by star architect Dominique Perrault.
