In its fourth year, the format of Future Urban Mobility specially addressed the topics of constantly advancing urbanization and the effects of climate change. Entitled [r+d] postcarbon Vienna, in the run-up to the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK curators Joshua Grigsby and Florian Lorenz (Smarter Than Car) got together international experts with interdisciplinary design teams. Together, they worked out concepts for future-oriented mobility models without fossil fuels – especially bicycles traffic, public transport, neighborhood enhancement, and the re-conquest of the public space played an essential role in the exhibition and the accompanying discourse events.
