26.9.–4.10.2014

For Passionswege, the London design firm PostlerFerguson collaborated with Viennese jewelers A.E. Köchert and musician Ken Hayakawa to create bespoke tools for recording sound.
A.E. Köchert, founded in 1814 and former Imperial-Royal purveyor to the Court, also inventor of the “Sisi Star”, makes precious and prestigious jewellery in consummate craftsmanship, with a range from classical to contemporary design. Köchert’s tradition of expressing personal style with superb quality is continued through the very contemporary practice of using our tools as ways of expressing our identity. We are what we do these days, whether you are a musician or a brand with craftsmanship at its heart.
The installation revolves around skill, pairing a beautifully crafted set of tools for field recording made by Köchert with a mix by Hayakawa made using sound recorded during the making process.
