Wolfgang Kiselka of the GB*3/11 is the pathfinder through the different stages of Vienna’s urban development. The object in view is Erdberg – a part of this year’s focus district of Landstraße – because here visitors can discover all the elements of Vienna’s urban development. The stroll through the neighbourhood starts thematically in the Gründerzeit, the industrial boom period of the mid- to late nineteenth century; it goes on to look at social housing developments and site rehabilitation for “soft urban renewal”, before ending by casting a perspective onto future development projects.
