Himbeer & Soda presents the exhibition “8 Chairs” by the London artist duo Clarke & Reilly, famous for the sensuous romanticism they pour into used objects. For “8 Chairs”, 8 historical chairs were up-holstered with antique materials and then exposed to the icy winter on a roof in England and to scorching heat in the Californian desert. “8 Chairs” shows the outcome of this process, which was documented not only in film and photography but also through the senses: a fragrance created by Azzi Glasser immerses the exhibition into the specific period of the past that had an effect on the fabric, smell and structure of the chairs.
