Niko Kralj (1920–) is an industrial designer and renowned in Slovenia as one of the pioneers in this sector. He created some of the most influential icons of Slovenian material culture, which went unnoticed for a long time because of their seeming casualness of design. Kralj’s works from between 1952 and 1992 will be on show in the exhibition, which in part still take effect as indispensable design features of public and private spaces. In their essential modernity Kralj’s chairs embody an important part of Slovenian cultural identity.
