"Misconceivable – between crazy realities and irritated viewing patterns” documents the making-of of an installation on the Hotel Daniel roof: an elegant sailing boat that has taken off, up, up and away into lofty heights and now leans over a roof-edge…. and water? – not a drop in sight! Erwin Wurm’s sculptures are renowned for subverting familiar forms, attributions and everyday realities and for sounding out limits. And it’s quite certain and also intentional that a sailing boat stranded on a hotel roof will be a hot topic for discussion. Whatever happens, it puts the focus on an exceptional hotel in an exceptional building of the 1960s by architects Lippert + Rohn.
