The exhibition is presenting the design products of the students of the Atelier Art Design of the Department of Design in the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, where Prof. František Burian is the head. Besides the basic principles of the designer’s work, the authors concentrate on the design of products that transcend the confines of functionality and through their poetry touch upon the boundaries between design and free art. They deal with new themes that arise as a consequence of the consumer society and its relationship to ecology and the “real needs” of people, meanwhile they evade neither the critical eye, nor irony.
