Talks 2011

This year, too, the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK is putting on a series of lectures by the leading designers taking part. For our talks this year, organised in cooperation with departure – Die Kreativagentur der Stadt Wien, we are fortunited to have won Ravi Naidoo (za) and Doshi Levien (uk) with talks by Dieter Rams (de) and Cameron Sinclaire (uk) to be confirmed.The topic this year is “Change”, which the guests will highlight from their own point of view and work experience. “Change” once more addresses the issue of the central significance of design as catalyst and pathfinder of social change. Globalisation is causing radical changes in our society and confronting designers with questions of social and ecological responsibility and design’s role as a holistic instrument and strategy for improving our living environment. So at this year’s VIENNA DESIGN WEEK Talks you can hear important designers talking about the chances that design has to really change things.
