The ‘FLAXX Chair’ has been conceived as a hybrid, with the comfort of a cantilever chair and the functionality of one with four legs. The new type of construction employed for the supporting frame and the combination of all the merits of both concepts is an up-to-date interpretation, both in terms of function and form. The seat shell is made of natural fibre mats, with several layers of the material pressed and thus brought into a stable, three-dimensional form. The seat shell and base frame are 100 percent recyclable. The technology for the fabrication of the seat comes from the automobile industry and is already being successfully employed for interior components. With the ‘FLAXX Chair’ this technology is being used in a modified form for the first time for furniture, combining the advantages of modern technology with the concept of sustainable materials.
