The VIENNA DESIGN WEEK traditionally opens in the resplendent halls of the LIECHTENSTEIN MUSEUM. Like last year, it will present the latest products of the WIEN PRODUCTS Collection, including enterprises like the Wiener Silber Manufactur, the Wiener Porzellanmanufaktur Augarten or Vienna Bag. This year, the partnership of the LIECHTENSTEIN MUSEUM and the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK also has a conceptual basis: opening on the same evening in the galleries on the ground floor is the exhibition “Baroque Splendour and Stainless Steel”. The curators from the Neigungsgruppe Design present three famous design teams, Claesson Koivisto Rune (SE), Makkink & Bey (NL) and Olgoj Chorchoj (CZ).
The more relaxed part of the evening is accompanied by soulful music from 98.3 Superfly. Later there is the traditional Design tombola, preceded by the presentation of the winner of the first Austrian Rado Young Design Prize.
